Tea for two

The Chester and District Federation of the Blind is a local charity set up originally to help blind and partially sighted people. But since the pandemic we have developed Tea for two to include sighted people who may live alone and benefit from the chance to meet up to have a cup of tea, or a glass of wine and engage in some much-needed social interaction, in a relaxed group atmosphere. Just a couple of hours on a regular basis is something to look forward to for an isolated person.

Through the lens, we can showcase the joy, determination, and resilience that shines within our community.

Transport to and from the unit can be provided where afternoon tea, and perhaps a glass of wine, good company and entertainment can be enjoyed. We don’t ask for a contribution on the first visit, on the second and subsequent visits we ask people to contribute £5 if they are able. Currently, tea for two is running every week on Fridays and every fortnight on Thursdays. For more information call us on 01515389698 

Tea for Two, which is funded, in part, by the Steve Morgan Foundation, has been delightful. It’s great to see people getting to know one another, laughing and having fun after such a trying, stressful eighteen months.
